Keeshond Club Open Show Saturday 26th January 2008
It was a pleasure to judge the Keeshond Club Open Show and I would like to thank the Officers and Committee for their hospitality. I was pleased with the quality of my entry. Of the entry of 61 there with few absentees, 1 dog and 6 bitches
Minor Puppy Dog (1)
- Blomfield’s Valindale Whatever, 7½ month old puppy. Clean head with nice expression, nicely shaped eye and defined spectacles. Angulated shoulder with reach of neck, nice top line. A little erratic in movement going away. Would prefer a coarser coat which may come with age.
Puppy Dog (3, 1 Absent)
- Pattison’s Eastkees Licence To Love, straight front, lovely wedge shaped headed dog with dark eye & alert expression. Ears well set, very good neck, with good shoulder angulation & well sprung ribs. Good set of tail. Very compact & balanced overall, in lovely coat & condition. Needs to tighten in rear movement. Best Puppy in Show
- Taylor’s Reesburg Ringleader.
Junior Dog (1)
- Peck’s Valindale Fixed Assets for Byquy, straight front, wedged shaped head with dark eye, good ears, good shoulder, well shaped & balanced in profuse coat. Needs to steady in front movement.
Special Yearling Dog (3)
- Day’s Allforus Dice Master for Spitzcav, lovely wedge shaped head with a good stop, dark eye, defined spectacles & well set ears. Straight front & good shoulder. Well set tail, nice top line & well balanced. In good coat & colour with defined markings. Moved soundly behind but needs to tighten in front. Reserve Best Dog
- Divers Allforus Roll Of The Dice at Murmansk.
Novice Dog (2)
- Taylor’s Reesburg Ringleader, second from puppy, dark coloured with defined markings. Up to size but this young man needs time to settle being very naughty for his handler.
Post Graduate Dog (5)
- Rose’s Rossvale Sacred Spirit for Esorkees, lovely wedge shaped head with dark eye, defined spectacles, well set ears. Good shoulder angulation, depth of chest, correct top line, with good bone, nice colour and well defined markings. Nicely set tail, tight feet & moved soundly. In the challenge needed to get in tune with his handler.
- Hill’s Plymkees First Edition.
Limit Dog (5)
- Bennett & Savage’s Thorsdale Trade Mark, all quality dog, lovely shaped wedged head with moulded muzzle, a pleasure to handle, lovely dark eye & expression, correct shaped ears which are well set. Pleasing top line with a correct tail set. Good bone & body. Moved with typical Keeshond briskness. One of the best movers of the day. Just coming into coat, colour & markings need to deepen. I will watch him with interest.
- Wadmore Smith’s Rossvale Latin Lover.
Open Dog (3)
- Hickson’s Kichigai Great Pretender, heavier type of dog, straight front, well shaped head, good stop, well defined spectacles with well set ears, good shoulder, good top line, with good tail set, well bodied & boned, in good coat & colour. Moved soundly. Best Dog
Veteran Dog (7)
- Scroggs & Bennett’s Ch Foxifayre Oklahoma at Ledwell, 11 year old dog, but what a mover, could teach some of the youngsters. Wedge shaped head with a lovely dark eye, good neck with well angulated shoulder, short back with a lovely make & shape. Well boned, in good coat, good colour & condition. Moved with drive.
- Passmore’s Ch. & Am. Trumpet’s Disco Inferno at Torrikees.
Breeders Dog (1)
- Austin’s Chotahkees What a Dream, nice headed dog, in good coat & condition , well angulated shoulder, level top line, moved well.
Minor Puppy Bitch (1)
- Austin’s Valindale Darling Girl for Chotahkees, nicely headed with moulded wedge, dark eye, correct shaped ear, well placed, good stop, nice top line. Moved very well. Would prefer a coarser coat, may come with age.
Puppy Bitch (4)
- Luckhurst’s Gavimir English Rose, straight front, well shaped head with dark eye & spectacles. Well balanced with good top line, tail a little tight, moved soundly.
- Henman & Peterson’s Eastkees Dare To Dream of Foxifayre.
Junior Bitch (6)
- Francis & Wilding’s Swashway Stage Struck, straight front, moulded wedged head & muzzle with dark eye, well set ears, good shoulder, well balanced but would prefer a little more reach of neck. In profuse coat. Very good feet & moved very well.
- Stubbings Vandersee Autumnal Mist.
Special Yearling Bitch (8, 1 Absent)
- Wadmore Smith’s Rossvale The Look Of Love, lovely wedged shaped head, moulded muzzle, dark eye, well set ears with good spectacles. Well balanced with a good top line. Tight feet & well set tail. Moved very well. Very feminine bitch. Reserve Best Bitch
- Passmore’s Torrikees with Attitude.
Novice Bitch (2)
- Henman & Peterson’s Dare to Dream of Foxifayre, nicely shaped wedged head with dark eye & alert expression, well placed ears, nice top line, moved well.
- Firth’s Ricara Night Music.
Post Graduate Bitch (4, 2 Absent)
- Newman’s Leazehond Maddy Moonlight, fifth from puppy, dark eye, wedged head, moved well, slightly on the large side for a bitch.
- Norris’s Exeleigh Jezebel.
Limit Bitch (4, 1 Absent, 1 withdrawn Lame)
- Wadmore Smith’s Rossvale The Look Of Love.
- Searle’s Leazehond Pacific Blue at Heemstede.
Open Bitch (5)
- Gregory’s Neradmik J’Adore Amikirs, Lovely wedged shaped clean head with pleasing shaped dark eye, alert expression, clearly defined spectacles, well set ears. Well arched neck, well angulated shoulder, good depth of chest & well sprung ribs. Lovely top line & good bone. Well balanced overall. Coat in very good condition, good colour & of good texture , with well defined markings. Moved very soundly. I was very pleased to give her Best Bitch, Best in Show
Veteran Bitch (7, 2 Absent)
- Brewer’s Neradmik Risky Rumour at Helkeesen, 8 year old bitch in lovely coat & condition. Very pleasing head with dark almond eye & lovely expression. Good shoulder with correct upper arm, nice top line, well set tail. Very good colour with defined markings, coat of correct texture. Moved like a dream.
