Judges Summary

A great pleasure to judge this excellent entry of 103 exhibits. a very sporting crowd of breed enthusiasts who are obviously devoted to their breed and enjoy their dogs.

My special thanks to the Show Manager on the day David Matthews and also to Geraldine Clark who was show Secretary for the day and to my stewards Carole Jackson and Phyllis Andrews.

Whilst the lighting did not help to evaluate colour in the breed, I felt most were within the parameters of the standard, likewise markings and spectacles. My biggest concerns were on hind movement where weak hocks, and lack of definition in the hock produced poor hind action which penalised many otherwise excellent exhibits.

I though many eyes were too round and a little larger than prescribed in the standard however, lots to please and I enjoyed the judging very much, thank you.

Minor Puppy Dog (2)

  1. Elliott’s Neradmik Boss at Fletilla, 7 months, good for size and balance, although carrying a little too much body. Good wedge shaped head. Ears a little large. Sound moving but needs some more schooling. Eyes a little round.
  2. Buchannan’s Buchkees Double Trouble, 6 months, real baby who needs time to grow and develop. Lovely eye shape and colour. Good ears. A little light all through at the moment. Good colour, sound and well schooled.

Puppy Dog (1)

  1. Hickson’s Natlou’s Young Pretender under Kichigai, 10 months, beautiful coat, colour & outline. Good head, good ears, good ribcage. I would prefer more length of leg for perfect balance and this is accentuated by him being a little heavy in body at the moment. Could be a little more co-ordinated on the move but he is young. A lot of type and won Best Puppy in show for his finish on the day.

Junior Dog (2, 1 Absent)

  1. Brunt’s Zandvoort Dream Machine, 14 months old, good size and balance. Colours need to clear. Good head, ears and eye shape and colour. Needs to spring in rib and develop more chest. Sound accurate mover and holds his shape well.

Post Graduate Dog (7, 1 Absent)

  1. Gate’s Valindale What Do You Think about Lacetrom, liked him enormously for type, balance and brisk movement (and later won the trophy for Best Mover). Masculine head, free from coarseness. Good body & leg length balance. Excellent coat colour and texture. I think his handler needs a little more experience in handling and presentation, but on the move the dog looks top class and I feel he could have a very good career ahead of him.
  2. Brunt’s Zandvoort Dream Machine
  3. Barton’s Rossvale Spirit In The Sky at Collcrist

Limit Dog (7, 1 Absent)

  1. Pattison’s Eastkees Licence To Love, 22 months, not in full coat, but appealed to me. Most for size, balance and type. The coat he has is good colour and texture and he has an excellent head and eye and good ribs. Excellent on the move, Could fill out a little in chest which shows in front action but overall picture very pleasing.
  2. Blomfield’s Valindale What Ever, 18 months, wonderful coat fur colour and texture And presented to look a picture. Full size dog who needs to drop in chest and body up now. Strong skull and good muzzle. I’d prefer a little less of him but may look more compact with maturity.
  3. Rose’s Rossvale Sacred Spirit to Esorkees

Open Dog (9, 1 Absent)

  1. Day’s Allforus Dice Master for Spitzcav, 2 and a half years, beautiful shape and balance and went soundly with brisk action. Scored in chest here and briskness of action. I would prefer slightly better feet, but coat colour and type with a lot of quality took him to the CC, his third and Best in Show.
  2. Bennett & Savage’s Thorsdale Trade Mark, 3 years, impressive outlined dog of slightly heavier type – pressed hard and has slightly better front than the winner but I preferred the winners chest. Masculine, high quality dog who appealed a lot. Not the briskness of action of the winner on the day and his handler could get a little more out of him. However I though him an excellent quality dog and he took the RCC and Reserve Best in Show.
  3. Divers’ Ch. Allforus Roll Of The Dice at Murmansk

Veteran Dog Under 10 Years (8, 1 Absent)

  1. Morgan’s Ch. Amikirs The Italian Job, 9 and half year in great form, ultra sound. Rather dark in colour now but correct markings, excellent coat texture and excellent mover from strong hocks and very accurate in front. A convincing Best Veteran in Show.
  2. Rose’s Valindale Rum Punch for Esorkees, very typy and sound. Not quite the leg length to give him the balance of the winner but excellent coat & colour.
  3. Austin’s Chotahkees What A Dream

Breeders Dog (2, 1 Absent)

  1. Luckhurst’s Ch. Gavimir Kestrel, 6 years old, excellent type and balance, good colour and coat texture. Brisk active mover. Excellent neck, good head and ears. I though he needed a little more body on the day, but a really honest quality Keeshond who made the final cut in the challenge.

Minor Puppy Bitch (3, 1 Absent)

    Two nice ones

  1. Pattison’s Eastkees Winter Mist, almost 7 months, lovely type and balance and very Sound. Has beautiful eyes and ears. Excellent outline held on the move. Needs time for colour to settle but I liked her a lot and whilst she lost out to the dog for finish and maturity for Best Puppy in Show, she is a wonderful prospect to take home for the future.
  2. Barton’s Stratus The Enchantress at Collcrist, 8 months, beautiful coat, colours and excellent skull. Excellent movement. At the moment she is a little high in the rear and can firm up in topline but this may well be a puppy thing. She has a lot of quality and should finish well. Very well schooled and presented.

Puppy Bitch (2)

  1. Pattison’s Eastkees Idle Chance, 7 months, beautifully balanced and an excellent mover. Appealed greatly in head and eye. Scored in balance here. Litter sister to the Minor Puppy winner and similar in type but not so forward in body. Two very good prospects.
  2. Elliott’s Natlou Lady Penelope at Fletilla, 11 months. Excellent head and neck, well set ears. A little long for perfect balance. Good ribbing and coat texture. Not the carriage or briskness of the winner today.

  2. Parsley’s Torrikees Miss Dior, 14 months, preferred her colour at the moment, a little leaner all through. Beautifully sound. Not quite as firm in topline on the move but I like her immensely.
  3. Wilson’s Gallowtree Midnight Belle

  1. King’s Ricara Evita of Kasmay, just on 2 years, high quality bitch all through, in In lovely coat of excellent colour and texture. Good balance. Excellent head and ears, dark eyes. Holds her shape well. Brisk, sound mover. Really looked the part and won the CC – I hope she has a great future.
  2. Jaines’ Allforus Born For Ice, 21 months feminine bitch of excellent colour. A little Long for perfect balance. Good rear action. Quality feminine head. Would prefer a little firmer in front.

Lovely class, a lot of nice bitches

  1. King’s Ricara Evita of Kismay
  2. Hickson’s Kichigai Moonlight Kisses, 17 months not in best coat but for type and allure I liked her immensely. Good Head with correct eyes and good ears. Well ribbed. The coat she has is of good texture and colour. A little loose in front but great carriage on the moved and scored in rear to take her place in this good class.
  3. Hill’s Plymkees Limited Edition

Limit Bitch (10, 1 Absent)

  1. Francis & Wilding’s Swashway Material Girl, and absolutely sound and honest 3 year old, unexaggerated and full of breed type. Lovely size and balance and an accurate and typical mover. I liked her all through. Not in her best coat but has beautiful head, eyes and ears, her balance, accuracy and firmness in the hocks took her to the lead in this class.
  2. Truelove’s Neradmik Baiodora Lady D’Winter, 2 years, beautifully coated and excellent head, another excellent mover. Slightly preferred the balance of outline of the winner, but her firmness on the move put her here.
  3. Smith’s Eastkees Diamond Image

Open Bitch (11, 5 Absent)

  1. Bell’s Allforus Tumbling Dice, 2 year old in lovely form. Excellent outline held on the move. Wedge shaped head, good ears. Holds her shape well with good profile and gait, but failed in the challenge and did not reproduce the accuracy of movement she had shown before. Took RCC.
  2. Brewer’s Ch. & Ir. Ch. Helkeesen Eventful, 2 years, similar type. Excellent outline and good coat texture. A little leaner in body than the winner and this just showed in her carriage but lovely breed type and quality throughout. Sound and accurate, pressed very hard here.
  3. Francis & Wilding’s Ch. Swashway Drama Queen
